2024 Annual Review
On behalf of the Board, the children, and the nuns, thank you so much for your amazing support last year. 2025 marks the 25th year anniversary of our founding. Our donor family has provided incredible support through the years. Since 2001 we have raised just over $4 million, we have directly supported the kids with $3 million, and have built a Legacy Fund of $1 million for their future.
Thanks to your generosity and commitment, our donations remain strong. In 2024 we received $360,000 in donations. We spent $21,000 on administrative needs and $311,000 directly on the kids. This includes $75,000 on much needed facility repair and $22,000 on college scholarships.
Our budget for 2025 looks to remain the same as 2024, with no change to the bottom line. This year we believe we can reduce what we spend for facility repair and use those funds to expand other programs, with a focus on primary and secondary education. We do have money in the 2025 budget for facility repair but as of today, no specific tasks.

We will continue with the backbone of our mission: Basic Needs, Clean Water, Medical support, and our annual Dental initiative. As we learn more about the success of our scholarship program, we are looking at ways to strengthen and expand its use. On the administrative side, we will increase our investment in software for accounting and donor communications that will enable us to be more efficient in the future.
Over the years, your contributions to FVSO have helped 92 students attend college and university. Students have majored in nursing, pharmacy, auto repair, building construction, baking, architecture, accounting, and information technology. Recently, a student from Vinh Son-1, who graduated nearly 10 years ago, explained how education had greatly improved their lives.
Speaking of growth, we are very excited that in 2024 we added eight new dedicated and skilled Board Members who will serve and guide us in the days ahead. The mission that began in 2001 will carry on. Your support in the past has been key to helping the kids and your continued support will help ensure their future.
Thank you for all you do.
Patrick Leary, President FVSO
