A Letter From Our New President, David Bolhorst
A Letter From Our New President, David Bolhorst

Dear FVSO Supporters,

I’d like to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude for all of your involvement in our organization. It’s both a great honor and privilege to step into the role of President of FVSO. Although I have only served on the board for a little over a year, having grown up alongside some of the founding board members, I have been privileged to witness the remarkable work of FVSO since its inception and have long admired its unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of the children at Vinh Son Orphanage. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, FVSO has been able to touch the lives of thousands of children over the years.

I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Patrick Leary for his outstanding service to our organization over the past 15 years. His dedication to the children, the nuns, and our mission has been evident in all he has done.
He has been a tremendous support to me over the past 6-9 months as we thoughtfully navigated this transition.

Additionally I am deeply appreciative of Dave Chaix, FVSO’s founding president, whose passion for helping children in Vietnam’s Central Highlands laid the foundation for our organization. Through his caring leadership and dedication to fundraising, FVSO has grown into what it is today.

Finally, I want to thank Gene Mapa for his many years of service. Although Gene is stepping down from his role as Treasurer, he will remain on the board in some capacity for the time being. His responsibilities have been transferred to our new Treasurer, Andrew Monroe, and our VP of Communications, Chris Keegan. Thank you, Gene, for your tireless work and commitment over the years.

While additional operational changes will undoubtedly come in the future, such as our new mailing address allowing streamlined donation processing, FVSO’s core dedication to the children, families, nuns, and
community in the Central Highlands will remain constant. Our mission to provide education and basic needs to the children of VSO continues, and we are always seeking ways to increase our impact thanks to your
generous donations. We remain eternally grateful to our donors and supporters for their ongoing encouragement and commitment to FVSO’s mission. Thank you for your steadfast support—both now and in the years to come.

Best regards,
David Bolhorst
