On the morning of May 27th, the students of Vinh Son, dressed in their nicest uniforms, cheerfully gathered in the middle of the yard for their end of school year celebration, excited to welcome the arrival of summer. The season of rest promises to bring fun and relaxing activities, and the opportunity to recharge before the next school year begins.

The atmosphere was joyful and filled with excitement as Truong Chinh of the Senior High School kicked off the school year’s closing ceremony with flag salute. The ceremony continued with colorful art and dance performances followed by a special speech from the school principal congratulating the students for their hard work, remarkable progress, and encouragement to continue their dedication to learning. He was proud to report the remarkable growth the children had shown academically over the year. The students listened attentively, showing respect to all the teachers and staff for their efforts in helping them succeed over the past year. The speech ended with thunderous applause.

Student awards were then handed out, with winners called up to receive their certificates, each with a proud smile on their face. The ceremony concluded with exciting performances from students that included singing, and a dance from the students of Vinh Son 1 that was applauded by all. It was the perfect end to a wonderful school year.

Y Nhien from the 12th grade shared her feelings as she prepared to graduate:
“For students like me, our days studying and living in this school will always be special to us. We have grown up here and improved ourselves both academically and morally, thanks to the efforts of the Sisters, teachers, and benefactors of FVSO who have loved and helped us. Although many of us have no parents, we’ve been able to get a good education, and are very thankful to have been able to call Vinh Son our home.”

Thank you to all the FVSO donors and the Sisters who have provided a place for the ethnic minority orphans to receive quality education, medical care, warmth and love. We hope you enjoy your summer!
