Mid-Autumn Festival

This year's Mid-Autumn Festival in Kon Tum and Quang Ngai was celebrated with great grandeur at the 26/3 Square in Kon Tum ward, on the evening of October 3, 2025. The event drew numerous children, who gathered to enjoy performances of lion dances, along with a variety of lively and colorful cultural displays that created a joyful and bustling atmosphere.
Highlights of the celebration included captivating lion dance performances, a lantern procession, and an animated scene titled “The Legend of the Moon.” These performances captivated both children and adults in Kon Tum, making the festival a memorable and meaningful occasion. The event was conducted safely and joyfully, bringing immense happiness to children across Kon Tum ward and Quang Ngai province.
The joy of the Mid-Autumn Festival extended beyond schools. It also thrived at six Vinh Son orphanages, where delegations from major cities visited to present gifts and organize festivities. The goal was to spread joy among the orphans and to remind them that they are always loved and supported by Sisters and benefactors alike. The celebrations included dancing, fun quizzes, and games, creating a lively and engaging environment. Children eagerly participated in the activities, hoping to win attractive and exciting gifts.
Following the entertainment, benefactors distributed lanterns and sweets, and accompanied the children in a lantern procession on each orphanage’s campus. Besides enjoying cultural activities, the children partook in a hearty banquet prepared by benefactors. The delicious food, filled with warmth and laughter, created a truly heartwarming atmosphere. Seeing the innocent smiles of the children inspired everyone to continue spreading joy and living beautifully each day.
For the children of Kon Tum Parish, a special Mid-Autumn Festival ceremony was also held. At 5 a.m., children from local villages and from Vinh Son 1 orphanage gathered at the wooden cathedral of Kon Tum Diocese to attend a Holy Mass of Thanksgiving. This was followed by a joyful cultural evening titled “The Moon of Love.” The parish catechists distributed delicious cakes and colorful lanterns, while musical performances filled the night with excitement—clapping, shouting, drums, and lively song performances brought immense happiness and love to everyone present.
The celebration concluded at 8:30 p.m. on October 6, 2025. All the children returned home full of joy, each holding a small gift—small in size, but rich in affection and care from the parish priest, catechists, and parishioners.
We thank God for bestowing overflowing joy upon the children during this Mid-Autumn Festival. May all orphans continue to experience the simple joys of childhood and grow up surrounded by love and care from everyone.
